Majfest in Middelfart – Sports and a Great Atmosphere on the Lillebælt
A weekend full of activity
On Saturday, May 2, the Lillebælt Half Marathon—Denmark’s largest half marathon event—kicks off at 1:30 p.m. The course winds through Middelfart’s historic center, along the coast, and across the old Lillebælt Bridge, offering spectacular views of the water. Music, food stands, and cheering spectators accompany the runners on their way to the finish line on Havnegade.
Then,on Sunday, May 3, cyclists will take over the city: At the traditional Fyen Rundt, the second-oldest cycling race in the world, professionals and amateurs will ride various circuits across the Fyn region. The start and finish are also in Middelfart—right by the harbor.
In addition to top-level athletic competition, Middelfart offers a colorful supporting program throughout the weekend: live music, a rosé festival, late-nightshopping, and many food stalls right on the coast create a true spring and summer atmosphere.
